Does Revelation foretell today's current events? Here is Bible Verse #4 of 4: "And he (the angel) said to me (John) , 'Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near.'" Rev 22:10 John said that the time was near when he wrote Revelation (96 AD) The fulfillment of the prophecies was not near, but were 2000 years later. . . Review: Daniel Vs. John "seal up" Daniel 8:26 "And the vision of the evenings and mornings which has been told is true; But keep the vision secret, For it pertains to many days in the future." Daniel 12:4 "But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the book until the end of time" Daniel was a prophet who wrote about 600 BC The angel told Daniel to "seal up" the prophecy Yet Daniel's prophecies were fulfilled with the earthly ministry of Jesus and shortly thereafter. What is reasonable? Important thought: If God wanted to tell us that the prophecies within Revelation were for first & second century Christians, can you think of a clearer more concise way that he could describe it than these four verses? Does Revelation only prophecy future events? . . The Bible says: "Write therefore the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall take place after these things."
