303: How can I be born again?
The instruction he received was, "arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins . . ." (Acts 22:16). A clear example of the new birth is seen in the conversions which occurred on the day of Pentecost in Jerusalem. Spirit-filled men preached a Spirit-given message. Believers were told to "repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remissions of sins . . . " (Acts 2:38). Eager listeners responded by being baptized and "the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls"(Acts 2:41). Remember how Jesus had promised that those who were born again would enter the kingdom? With these first converts on Pentecost that promise was fulfilled. The Spirit's work in conversion is not in stimulating a feeling of ecstasy, but in providing men a knowledge of the truth. The Bible says, "Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth (James 1:18). And Peter declared, Being born again, not of corruptible, by the word of God . . . And this is the word ... ...

Of Neco's bold bid for Syria we have more certain evidence. In or about 6o8 B. c. Pharaoh-Necoh slew Josiah king of Jerusalem at Megiddo, and penetrated to Carchemish on the Euphrates 1, driving any remnants of Assyrian domination before him : returning thence he deposed Jehoahaz, who had succeeded his father Josiah at Jerusalem, after three months' reign, placed his brother Eliakim (Jehoiakim) on the throne, and put the land of Judah under tribute 2. Herodotus, too, says that Neco's defeated the (As)Syrians at Magdola, by which he means Megiddo, and took Cadytes, which may be Gaza or some city in northern Syria. We are offended that anyone would suggest the authors of the Bible rely upon human records and not the Holy Spirit. "no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. (2 Pet 1:20-21) Scripture does tell us : "Now it happened after many days that the word of the Lord came to Elijah in the third year, saying, "Go, show yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain on the face of the earth." 1 Kings 18:1 Jesus tells us: "But I say to you in truth, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up for three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land; Luke 4:25 What if James learned the number directly from Jesus himself? Did Jesus need to rely upon oral tradition? Hardly! There is no need to appeal to oral tradition, when you have specific Bible verses. 311: The Creation Account
Two of the Chinese words for God (see God in the Chinese Language), Ling and Shén, picture God's role in creation. Ling shows the Spirit of God covering over the waters (Genesis 1:2), and the three persons of God affecting the miracle of creation. Shén identifies God's voice as the active force in creation, as do the Scriptures (Genesis 1:3, 6, 9, 11, 14, 20, 24, 26). This image also shows man, the crowning jewel of God's creation, and the garden in which he was placed. Bring Forth Three times (Genesis 1:11, 20, 24, KJV), the Bible account of creation uses the phrase "bring forth." Combined, these texts reveal several things which were brought forth in the sea, on the land, and in the air. The Chinese word sheng means to BRING FORTH or LIFE. It is suggested by Kang and Nelson, authors of The Discovery of Genesis, that the three horizontal strokes in sheng represent the heaven, earth, sea and the creatures and vegetation brought forth in them.2 The radical on the left side of sheng is ... ...

314: 500 Flood stories prove Noah's Ark is real history: Epic of Gilgamesh ...
Nur-Aya's three tablets has four columns on the front and four columns on the back. 6. Parts of the Epic of Atra-Hasis are quoted in flood Tablet XI of the Epic of Gilgamesh (1150 BC) and in the writings of Berossus (250 BC). 7. The Epic of Atra-Hasis is a polytheistic explanation of the present state of man, mixed with the true historical knowledge of the creation of man and the flood by those who were still living to tell the story of the ark. For example, Shem lived 500 years after the flood, which means he lived after Abraham was born. 8. Great imaginative effort is written into the story to explain why men must toil so hard to live off the land and why women suffer such pain in childbirth. While Jews and Christians understand this was a direct curse from Adam and Eve eating the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden, the Babylonian pagans had no explanation. They just understood these two facts as reality. A. Colophonal scribal markings used to date Atra-Hasis to 1635 BC: 1. The ... ...

315: Galatians 3:34-25 says the 10 commandments are abolished!
... The Law of Galatians 3 is the Sinai covenant, as the context says! The first time covenant is used, it is to Noah, of the covenant (agreement) that if he builds the ark, God will make the flood waters come and destroy the earth. The rainbow is a sign of the covenant that God will never do this again! See Gen 6:18; 9:9-17. This most certainly is not the ten commandments or the Sabbath law! Next time covenant is used, it is to Abraham: "On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, "To your descendants I have given this land" Gen 15:18. This is known in Gal 3:16 as the three "promises" which are: 1. Great nation promise that was fulfilled in Egypt. (Gen 46:3; Deut 10:22) 2. Land promise that was fulfilled in Joshua. (Josh 21:43; Deut 30:5) 3. The seed promise that was fulfilled in Christ. (Gal 3:16; Gal 3:29; Heb 6:11-13;19-20; Acts 13:32-33,38) Sinai Covenant was distinct from the Abraham covenant as Deut 5:2-3 proves: "The Lord our God made a covenant with us at Horeb. The ... ...

316: Infrared Imaging of the Temple Mount
In infrared imaging photography, you are measuring the two dimensional surface temperature. It does not "look" three dimensionally below the surface even an inch, but like a thermometer, measures the surface heat. Although it measures surface temperature only, we can get an idea of what is below the surface with a basic understanding of the laws of physics. If you heated three different blocks of wood, stone and metal to the same temperature, they cool off at different rates. When the sun shines all day on the ground, it provides a source of heat energy. The ground heats up in the day, then cools down in the evening. On your own property, the grass is cool by 10 PM, but the roads, driveway and sidewalks are still noticeably warm. This is why so many snakes get killed at night in deserts when they lay on the road to warm up and get run over by a car. If you took an infrared image over your house at 10 PM after a hot summer day, you would notice the driveway was hot (white coloured) and ... ...

317: Morenz, Siegfried: Egyptian Religion
... Mesopotamian theologians, who faced the same problems as their opposite numbers in Egypt, because they had to reconcile local gods with national deities and cosmic beings, apparently did not arrive at trinitarian formulae. Nor is any such evidence forthcoming from Syria, even after the amount of original literature increases considerably. On the contrary, the Syrian goddesses Kadesh, Astarte and Anath apparently only coalesce into a triune deity on Egyptian soil (see p. 143) One would not expect such a development to occur in Israel, with its consistent henotheism. Characteristically, the Yahvist tale of the three divine beings who called on Abraham at the sacred tree of Mamre does not lead to any effort to resolve the theological problem raised by the presence of three persons; instead the narrator simply omits the two who are superfluous. It is a thinkerftom Alexandria, Philo, who interprets the text in terms of the Trinity and thereby opens up a fruitful line of argument for ... ...

318: What is the Gift Of Tongues?
Contemporary tongue speaking is often confused with New Testament gifts of tongues, but they are not the same. The New Testament gift of tongues is described in five passages and you might want to write the passages down. From these five passages three things are evident. First, the New Testament gift of tongues consisted of languages of men which were spoken miraculously, without previous knowledge of the language. Second, these tongues were given as signs to confirm that both the man who spoke and the message he spoke were from God. Third, only those who received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and those who received the laying on of the apostles' hands possessed this miraculous gift. The first mention of speaking in tongues in the New Testament is Mark 16:17-20. In this passage, Jesus promised five kinds of signs which would accompany those who believed: (1) Casting out demons; (2) speaking with new tongues; (3) picking up serpents; (4) drinking deadly poison; and (5) healing the ... ...

Sometimes the plural is used instead: e.g., 'that they may give (di. sn)'; but this is not so much proof of inconsistency as a reflection of the dialectic inherent in a problem which was, to to speak, open-ended.zi It seems highly characteristic of the impact made by Egyptian theology that Syrian goddesses, who in their homeland (according to the information that survives) were never associated in this way, were in Egypt combined to form a trinity: Kadesh-Astarte-Anath. Other unions of gods were more complex than such simple combinations of names, which only yield a modest amount of information through an analysis of grammatical usage. In the theology of Apis, the god of Memphis, incarnate as a (whole) bull, there are two statements which serve to enhance the nature of this relatively humble god by making two great deities take up their abode in him; these statements shows clearly that the three gods are one. The earlier one dates from the Ramesside period. It represents the bull as a ... ...

... Conclusion: 1. Abraham was the youngest of three brothers not the oldest! 2. Christians today are 100% certain that Terah was 130 years old at the begetting of Abram. Jews have had it wrong for 3000 years. 3. The theological variant interpretation about the age of Terah when Abraham was born makes a 60 year difference in the age of the earth. 4. The minor textual variant in Gen 11:32 is irrelevant because it can be interpreted to mean that Terah was 70 or 130 years old when Abraham was born. 5. SAD FOOTNOTE IN HISTORY: The Failed mission of Terah: a. God commanded Terah to leave Ur of Chaldees for the land of Canaan in Genesis 11:31 b. It is quite possible that God made the three promises to Abraham's father Terah first, but he failed the test by remaining in Haran. c. Terah was an idol worshipper. d. ... These had long grazing teeth well embedded in the bony jaws for greater anchorage. The herds of Merychippus far outnumbered all others. Then in the Pliocene came the greatest surge of horse evolution, associated with further expansion of grassland plains and steppes. This was, in fact, a period of great expansion for other groups of large mammals, particularly the family of elephants which were to give rise to the elephants, mammoths, and various kinds of mastodons of later times. The land bridge between Asia and North America again became established during this time, and the three-toed horses spread across into Asia from their North American homeland. These invading horses, descended from Merychippus and known as Hipparion, flourished in Eurasia for some millions of years, giving rise to several new kinds, although Hipparion itself had died out in North America. Other descendants of Merychippus in North America, however, gave rise to several other types, such as the medium-sized, ... ...

... The law of Gal 3 is the Sinai covenant. Land promise that was fulfilled in Joshua. ... Most scholars believe that the anonymous parts of Neziqin derive from Caesarea, while those elsewhere in Palestinian Talmud ostensibly derive from Tiberias (in Bokser 1979: 193). The material in Neziqin consists of short comments, of almost exclusively halakhic (legal) content. It differs in brevity, style, and terminology from the rest of the Talmud. The first three Orders, the remaining tractates of Neziqin, and the tractate Niddah were edited at Tiberias. Although, the Yerushalmi is not the work of one school (Rabinowitz EncJud 15: 313-14). Many scholars have argued that the Palestinian Talmud was committed to writing during the 4th and 5th centuries because of the oppression experienced by the Palestinian Jewish community at that time. Recently these arguments have been demonstrated to be flawed, and they can now be dismissed (Bokser 1979: 197-79). (ABD, Talmud, Volume 6, Pages 312, 1992 AD) 3. "Talmud Yerushalmi. ... This the Church teaches is the revelation regarding 'God's nature which Jesus Christ, the Son of God came upon earth to deliver to the world: and which she proposes to man as the foundation of her whole dogmatic system. In Scripture there is as yet no single term by which the Three Divine Persons are denoted together. The word [tri'as] (of which the Latin trinitas is a translation) is first found in Theophilus of Antioch about A. D. 180. He speaks of "the Trinity of God [the Father], His Word ... Some of these, however, admitted that a knowledge of the mystery was granted to the Prophets and Saints of the Old Dispensation ... It may be readily conceded that the way is prepared for the revelation in some of the prophecies. The names Emmanuel (Isa., vii, 14) and God the Mighty (Isa ix, 6) affirmed of the Messias make mention of the Divine Nature of the promised deliverer. I HAVE said more than once in the early chapters of this little volume that the treatment I wished to advise as of use in a certain range of cases was made up of rest, massage, electricity, and over-feeding. I said that the use of large amounts of food while at rest, more or less en-tire, was made possible by the practice of knead-ing the muscles and by moving them with cur-rents able to effect this end. I desire now to discuss in turn the modes in which I employ rest, massage, and electricity, and, as I have promised, I shall take pains to give, in regard to these three subjects, the fullest details, because success in the treatment depends, I am sure, on the care with which we look after a number of things each in itself apparently of slight moment. ... A. Ritual covenants (not written): Abraham, Job, Jacob Boaz made covenants by engaging in a ritual rather than using written documents 1. In 2100 BC, Job lived at the same time as Abraham and used seals and bulla for security. Seals during this time did not seal written documents as in later times: "It is changed like clay under the seal; And they stand forth like a garment." (Job 38:14). 2. In 2091 BC, "God said to Abraham, "Bring Me a three year old heifer, and a three year old female goat, and a three year old ram, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon." 349: Timeline, maps, chronology, sermons of Ruth: 1300 BC
... Conclusion: 1. In the period between 1340 - 1284 BC we have three different stories that focus on Bethlehem: a. 1340 BC: Levite Jonathan, grandson of Moses is a Bethlehemite who moves north to accept a job with Micah in the hill country of Ephraim as the priest of a pagan shrine in rebellion to YHWH b. 1294 BC Elimelech, Naomi and their two sons move from their drought-stricken land in Bethlehem to Moab for ten years then return. c. 1290 a harlot wife from her home town of Bethlehem is raped and killed by the sodomite men of Benjamin in Gibeah which leads to the near extinction of the tribe of Benjamin. 2. It is clear that these stories come as a shock and surprise to those who read the book of Ruth that was written by Solomon 964 - 924 BC and the book of Judges that was written in 720 BC after the Assyrian captivity. 3. Although Bethlehem is a small and insignificant town, it produced Boaz and Ruth, David and eventually, Jesus Christ. 4. The book of Ruth is not so much a beautiful ... ...
