121: The wailing wall was built by "Hadrian" not "Herod"
The temple mount walls are more likely "Hadrian" then "Herodian": While most people refer to the border cut around the stones (embossed frames) as "Herodian", many of Herod's projects did not cut the "pillow border" into the stones. When Herod did cut the border onto the stones, the work was much sloppier than we see on the temple mount walls. This style was not unique to Herod being used between 700 BC - 1100 AD by many different builders. A simple glance at the outer walls of the temple mount show that there have been multiple constructions over a thousand years. The wall has been destroyed several time, repaired and endured many earth quakes. The foundation level stones at the bottom of the wall were set it place by either Herod in 25 BC or Hadrian in 135 AD. In addition to the fact that the current size of the temple mount area is twice as large as what Josephus recorded in 70 AD is one piece of evidence that Hadrian, not Herod built the wailing wall. "There is no doubt that this distinct version of the Israelite Samaritan Torah originated during the most ancient period of the people of Israel. The historian Josephus Flavius in his book the Antiquity of the Jews (book 13, lines 74-79) tells about a debate during the second century B.C.E. in the city of Alexandria, Egypt, between Jewish and Samaritan sages regarding the preeminence of each respective Pentateuch, and especially about the original holiness of their most sacred place, the Temple Mount in Jerusalem for the Jews and Mount Gerizim in the region of Samaria for the Israelite Samaritans. This debate happened before Ptolemy Philomater VI (181-145 B.c.E.) the king of Egypt. It is not surprising that Samaritan sources describe the outcome of the debate as a victory for the Samaritans, whereas Jewish sources and Josephus ... ...

126: Historical search for Kadesh Barnea from 1000 BC - Present
Introduction: 1. The search for Kadesh Barnea has been misguided. This reminds us of that classic moment in the Indiana Jones movie, "Raiders of the Lost Ark" where the Germans were "digging in the wrong place" for the Ark because the did not have all the information. For the last 100 years, archeologists were "digging in the wrong place" to find Kadesh. Kadesh, in fact, is not located anywhere near the place almost all Bible maps say it is (ei. Qudeirat) but 100 km east at or near Petra. a. The Hebrews left Egypt in 1446 BC and spent 38 years at Kadesh and then entered the promised land in 1406 BC. b. Many people are unaware that historically, Kadesh was thought to be at Petra from 1446 BC - 1831AD. 2. Our proposed Exodus Route: a. The Scriptures as a whole teach, along with geographic analysis, that the Hebrews crossed the Red Sea on the Gulf of Aqaba, specifically at the Straits of Tiran. b. The scriptures teach that Mount Sinai is somewhere in north Saudi Arabia. (History leads us ... ...

When we consider the antiquity and sanctity of the temple, its stupendous fabric, its solidity, and the uncommon magnitude of the stones of which it was composed, we may, in some measure, conceive of the amazement which this declaration of our LORD must have excited in the mind of his disciples. Nevertheless, this remarkable prediction,. as. we shall see in the sequel, was literally fulfilled, and, as our LORD had foretold, even during the existence of the generation to which he addressed it. Our Lord now retired to the Mount of Olives, to which place the disciples followed him, in order to make more particular inquiries relative to the time when the calamitous events, foretold by him, would come to pass. 146: Must I keep the Ten Commandments today?
When Moses came down from the mount, and witnessed the intervening idolatry of the people in designing the golden calf, he threw down the tablets and broke them (Exodus 32:19). God called him again into the mount and rewrote them (Exodus 34:1). It appears from Exodus 34:27, that Moses made copies of the tables for the people. The copy which God made was placed in the ark of the covenant (Deuteronomy 10:5), and was not available to the people. The ten commandments are the very essence of the old/first covenant: Exodus 34:27-28: "Then the Lord said to Moses, "Write down these ... 147: The sabbath law was 100% ceremonial and not moral law
C. Another false Adventist argument is that the Sabbath law is moral BECAUSE violation was punishable by death: Ex 31:15;35:2. Yet the truth is that all the following non-moral or ceremonial laws were punishable by death: Pharaohs firstborn slain for not letting Israel go. For touching the Ark: 2 Sam 6:7 Aaron's sons, (Nadab and Abihu) priests were killed for violating ceremonial law when offering incense to Jehovah: Lev 10:1-5 medium or a spiritist: Leviticus 20:27 for touching the mount Horeb: Ex 19:12-13 Unauthorized entrance into the holy place of the tabernacle: Lev 16:2 For looking into the Ark: 1 Sam 6:19 For disobeying ceremonial commands of any Priest: Deuteronomy 17:12-13 Cut off = death penalty: Exodus 31:14 "Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people." 148: Bethlehem
See ch. 41, supra.-Bag.] Compare discussion by Andrews, Cave of the Nativity in his Life of our Lord (N. Y.), 77-83] of the earth, and the place of his nativity was called Bethlehem by the Hebrews. Accordingly the pious empress honored with rare memorials the scene of her travail who bore this heavenly child, and beautified the sacred cave with all possible splendor. The emperor himself soon after testified his reverence for the spot by princely offerings, and added to his mother's magnificence by costly presents of silver and gold, and embroidered hangings. And farther, the mother of the emperor raised a stately structure on the Mount of Olives also, in memory of his ascent to heaven who is the Saviour of mankind, erecting a sacred church and temple on the very summit of the mount. And indeed authentic history informs us that in this very cave the Saviour imparted his secret revelations to his disciples.?55 And here also the emperor testified his reverence for the King of kings, by ... ...

149: The real Pool of Siloam discovered in 2004 AD
This is interesting because Jesus "Sent" the blind man to this pool to be healed. Josephus often references the pool of Siloam. He said it was located at the end "Valley of the Cheesemongers" or the Tyropoeon Valley (Josephus, Wars 5.4.1). He also said it was outside the city wall (Josephus, Wars 5.9.4) at a place where the old wall bent to the east (towards the rising sun) (Wars 5.6.1), but also facing the hill upon which was a rock called "Peristereon", which was further East (Josephus, ... Video: Ascent stairs from Siloam to Temple The pool of Siloam was discovered in 2004 and in 2007, they discovered the actual ascent stairs that lead to the temple. By following the Stairs, they can determine the exact location of the Temple on the temple mount. Here is an amazing animation done by the Museum in Israel regarding the ascent from the Pool of Siloam to the Temple. Beginning of ascent stairs at the Pool of Siloam. Only the first few steps have been excavated. Click to View These same ... ...
