453: Can you understand the Bible unaided by the Holy Spirit?
The Bible nowhere says that only religious leaders can understand the Bible. Neither do we need the direct action of the Holy Spirit to interpret the Bible. (The direct action of the Holy Spirit gave us the Bible in a permanent written record of God's inspired message to man.) Rejoice because God has promised that if you read the Bible you can understand! There are a few things that are more difficult to understand in the Bible than others. But the vast majority of the message (99%) is not difficult at all to understand. The King James Bible was translated from the original Greek in 1611AD. It is a high quality translation but it uses words and phrases common to the 16th century. The English language has changed a lot in 400 years. Now most people have the King James Bible and when they read it, they conclude that the Bible is difficult to understand. Here is where they have one valid point. The solution lies in buying a more recent translation of the Bible. The New American Standard, ... ...

456: Catholics wrong: Mary had many other children in addition to ...
Because these verses so clearly contradict Catholic doctrine, Catholic interpreters will insist these are cousins, kinsmen, or from a supposed earlier marriage of Joseph. Of course, the Bible proves all these things wrong. The Catechism gives this ridiculous and incorrect explanation: "The Church has always understood these passages as not referring to other children of the Virgin Mary. In fact James and Joseph, 'brothers of Jesus,' are the sons of another Mary, a disciple of Christ..." Pg. 126 #500). Matthew 13:55-56 & Mark 6:3 Cannot simply be cousins because Colossians 4:10 uses a separate Greek word. John 1:41 uses the same term of Peter and his brother. Satan only added the one word "not" to what God had said and completely changed the meaning. That is what men are doing to God's commands today. Who are you going to accept, the word of men or the Word of God? We are told in Acts 5:29, "We ought to obey God rather than men." On the Day of Judgment, the Bible will still say that "baptism does also now save us." Again the choice is yours, but it is very serious. We dare not make the wrong choice. 461: God's inspired message to man!
If the Bible came from the mouth of God, then the scriptures are believable when they speak of Jesus Christ and accurate when they touch the realm of science. All scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work . (2 Timothy 3:16,17) The word "inspired" (theopneustos) in the original Greek language literally means "God-breathed". When the Bible claims to be inspired, we understand therefore, that it came from the mouth of God. It is God-breathed, inspired. But a skeptic will say, "Everyone knows the Bible was written by men! The book of 1 Corinthians, for example, was written by a man named Paul. After all, the very first verse bears his name as the author." In reply to this we answer: "Yes, 1 Corinthians was written by Paul. Notice however, what Paul said in chapter 14, verse 37: "the things I write to you are the Lord's commandment." 465: Are we saved by Faith without Works?
The subject of faith and works is thoroughly biblical, vitally important, and one about which much error is taught. Let's look at faith and works briefly in the light of scripture. Jot down the Bible passages and read them prayerfully from your own Bible. To get a good view of faith and its influence upon those who truly possess it, please read the eleventh chapter of the book of Hebrews. Verse 1 says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen". The Bible is very consistent; if a person has faith, he will manifest it by his attitudes and actions even as God prescribes. 467: The Bible and Pyramid seed!
The Pyramids are the perfect place to store seeds. Modern skeptics are constantly attacking the Bible. They say parts of the Bible have been lost altered or corrupted over time. They say the Bible we have in our hands is vastly different from the original one 2000 years ago. Such charges are not based upon fact but are an irresponsible and deceptive slur against Gods Holy word. The Dead Sea scrolls, were written about 100 BC. They contained copies of and quotations from many Old Testament books. When they were discovered about 50 years ago, Bible students were anxious to see if the text of Isaiah, for example, had changed in 2000 years. To their delight, the Dead Sea Scrolls confirmed the accuracy of our modern Bibles and muzzled the skeptics. The Holy Spirit compared the Bible to imperishable seed, "You have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and abiding word of God. He even died for us so that we might be able to be closer to Him and be able to know that we are not alone when we face that History examination. However, there are two conditions that you must meet if Christ is to be on your side. You must put him first in everything you do, and obey His teachings as found in the New Testament." The word "honesty" or some form of it, occurs eleven times in the King James Version of the New Testament. Paul urges the Romans to "provide things honest in the sight of all men" Romans 12:17. He urges Christians to live "in all godliness and honesty", I Timothy 2:2. You recall that in Christ's parable of the seed and the sower, he refers to the man with the "honest and good heart", Luke 8:15. Honesty is a quality that is taught again and again in the Bible. What do you suppose Jesus would have done if he had had the opportunity to cheat in some of his boyhood classes? Do you suppose he would have reasoned, "Well, what's it going to hurt? No one will ever ... ...

482: Anti-Trinity proof texts REFUTED: John 8:42
The expression "proceeded forth" indicates that Jesus was created by God who was the source of Jesus existence. What John 17:3 is actually saying: The expression, "proceeded forth" in John 8:42 means nothing more than "Jesus came from the presence of the Father, being sent". The text teaches that Jesus was a human messenger that pre-existed his physical birth and came to the world by the incarnation. The Greek word for "proceeded forth" (exerchomai) is never used in scripture in the sense of creation point or origin. The same Greek word for "proceeded forth" ... impression that Jesus was God. So here we have a passage where, according to Arian logic, the disciples already believed Jesus to be God and Jesus was trying to convince them he was not God, but a creature. Of course the truth is that the disciples were grappling with the fact that Jesus was a human messenger that pre-existed his physical birth. They were grappling with the incarnation. A bilingual law school was founded in Berytus, Syria (modern Beirut), Latin appears with increasing frequency in surviving papyri from Roman Egypt, and significant pagan authors living in Antioch and Alexandria adopted Latin as their literary language ... ...

It refers to Israel (ie the ten northern tribes) as "Omri-land", since Omri was the one who founded the city of Samaria and made it the capital city of "Israel". 3. Bible kings indirectly referenced in the stele include: a. Jehoash (Joash) king of Israel/Samaria [Omri-land] b. Ben-Hadad-III (Mari) king of Damascus 4. Textual Variants in the Book of Genesis "Scripture cannot be broken" (Jesus, John 10:35) "My word will accomplish what I desire and succeed in the purpose for which I sent it." (Isa 55:11) Steve Rudd November 2017 Chronological Flood chart mapping the variants between the LXX and MT: Chronology of Noah's Flood: Single Textual Variants in the Book of Genesis Bible textual variants analysed Introduction: 1. The variants in the Genesis flood Chronology are the result of a calculated and coordinated nefarious plan to alter the text and not some innocent scribal error. a. The three changes from the LXX to the MT cannot be explained by scribal errors because in both cases the 150 + 150 day sequences ... What this means, is that the Hebrew Torah in the hands of Josephus in 70 AD was in agreement with the Greek Torah (Septuagint). b. It is likely that the alteration was made by the Jews at Zippori in 160 AD when they also corrupted the Genesis 5 & 11 chronologies in their Hebrew Torah. c. "But ... ...

Methuselah's begetting age of Lamech: 187 years Genesis 5:25 Single Textual Variants in the Bible "Scripture cannot be broken" (Jesus, John 10:35) "My word will accomplish what I desire and succeed in the purpose for which I sent it." (Isa 55:11) Steve Rudd November 2017 Methuselah's begetting age for Lamech was 187 not 167 years: Gen 5:25 Textual Variants in the Bible Bible textual variants analysed Introduction: "The simplest and most plausible explanation for the erroneous 167 reading in some manuscripts of LXX [Codex Alexandrinus: A] Genesis 5:25 is that it was the accident of a scribe near the beginning of the Septuagint's transmissional process. A basic text-critical reconstruction affirms this claim. Our earliest witness to LXX Genesis 5:25 is the chronology of Demetrius (who lived in Egypt less than 70 years after the original Greek translation), which confirms 187 as the LXX's original begetting age. Josephus (187, 969) and LAB (187, 782) also contain the correct numbers. All ... ...
