During Nabatean times (1st century) Elim was called Leuke Kome which is Greek for "White Harbor" also known as "White Village". a. It was a major seaport and the beginning of a caravan route through El Bad to Petra to Rhinocolura (Arish). b. Two large rectangular storage buildings have been excavated validating the function of a sea to land shipping hub at the time of Apostle Paul. c. Nabatean officials were stationed there in order to collect a 25% duty on all goods being imported. d. We can now be certain that Leuke Kome was the western border town of the Nabatean kingdom in the first century and that Wilderness of Shur, Midian and Al Bad are in first century Arabia. 4. See also: The Exodus route proven from the Bible. See also: The Chronological History of "The search for Kadesh" Panorama photo gallery of Israel Alphabetic list of all panorama photographs Introduction: The exodus Route has about 50 stops and traverses 7 wildernesses. If we used the Bible exclusively, we can know only 3 of the of the 50 exodus stops for certain: Goshen, Ezion Geber, Mt. Nebo. Of the 7 wilderness areas Israel passed through, we only know one for certain: Wilderness of Shur. The search for the exodus route has produced many different options: Mt. Sinai (18 different locations) The Red Sea crossing point (7 locations) and Kadesh Barnea (16 locations). Most of these options can be ruled out because they conflict with scripture. Paul said in Gal 4:25, that Mt. Sinai is in Arabia. This is a huge problem for those who believe Mt. Sinai is located at Mt. Musa in the middle of the Sinai Peninsula. Most maps have the wilderness of Zin in the wrong place. Kadesh Barnea was in the wilderness of Zin: Num 27:14; 33:26 Both the wilderness of Paran and the Wilderness of Zin included Kadesh Barnea It is between the ascent of Akrabbim and Kadesh. It is adjacent to the land Moab: Num 34:3 The wilderness of Zin does not extend west of the Arabah Valley and is entirely "transjordan". If Kadesh was at Qudeirat, then wilderness of Zin, would be inside the middle of Judah's Territory. They are digging up Bible stories! Our approach at this archeology website: We take the Bible as the inerrant, inspired word of our creator. It is the only 100 % accurate record of history and the key to unlocking all archeological mysteries. We accept the witness of history, but history was rejected when it contradicted the Bible. We accept the witness of genuine and valid science of archeology. We support archeology and archeologists. However when the personal opinions of archeologists conflict with the Bible, we reject archeology. For example, most archeologists do not believe man learned to farm or herd domesticated flocks of sheep until about 1000 BC, yet the Bible says that the children of Adam and Eve did both. Cain was a farmer of grain and Able was a shepherd of sheep. "Abel was a keeper of flocks, but Cain was a tiller of the ground." (Gen 4:2) Enoch, the son of Cain, built a city! Possibly Biblical Gilgal. The site enclosed by a wall on this long, oval hill overlooking the Wadi Far'ah is known to the Arabs as el 'Unuq (the necklace). Zertal suggests that it may be the Gilgal mentioned in Deuteronomy 11:30 as a reference point for the location of Mt. Ebal and Mt. Gerizim. Apparently unnoticed by archaeologists until examined by the author in 1985, the site features a nearly 6-foot-wide wall of unworked stones enclosing an area measuring 800 feet by 500 feet. A possible inner wall divides the enclosure into a one-third portion in the northern (far) end and a two-thirds portion in the southern (near) end. One of the site's most intriguing features, which the author hopes to excavate some day, is a stone pile positioned on the long axis in the southern portion. 29: Cypriot Pottery From the Island of Cypress
From the Island of Cypress, this pottery was key to proving the location of Jericho. Description: Click to View Discussion: Although Kathleen Kenyon made great contributions to controlled stratigraphic excavation techniques, she was above all A BIBLE HATING SKEPTIC. Pottery is one of the key methods of dating an ancient ruined city and Kenyon had no training or experience in reading pottery. In fact, in her final report, she devoted a single short paragraph to pottery. Kathleen Kenyon rejected the Bible story of Joshua causing the walls of Jericho to fall based primarily on pottery. She never found Cypriot pottery herself and she misread the pottery she did find by over 150 years too early. Kathleen Kenyon excavated Jericho in the 1950's and concluded that the walls fell 150 years before the Bible says they did in 1600 BC because she had no training in reading late Bronze pottery and she ignored the fact that Garstang found imitation Cypriotware in his excavations in the 1920's. 31: Mt. Karkom, Israel
Emmanuel Anati proposed Mt. Karkom as the location of mount Sinai. We feel the most compelling reason for rejecting Har Karkom as Biblical Mt. Sinai, is its location at least 35 km inside the Biblical boundaries of the promised land. Gen 15:18 and many other verses, says that the wadi Al-Arish (River of Egypt) is the southern boundary of Israel. For this reason alone we must reject Har Karkom as the location of Mt. Sinai. Emmanuel Anati's proposals must be rejected because it contradicts the Bible. Israel's "40 years in the wilderness" was not inside the promise land. Others believe Karkom is Kadesh Barnea, but again, neither Kadesh or Mt. Sinai were inside the promised land: "The archaeologist who has been overseeing an archaeological survey of the site [Mt. Karkom], Professor Emmanuel Anati, believes it to have been the mountain of the Ten Commandments (i.e. Mount Horeb). Eusebius and Jerome all said that Kadesh Barnea was located at Petra. The Treasury at Petra was carved by the Nabataeans in 100 BC and represents a reuse of the Hebrew city. 2. This unusual "city of the tombs" carved into solid sandstone by the Nabataeans was the place Israel buried their dead for 38 years. 3. Since the time of Joshua, is has been called "The Rock" (Sela/Petra) because this is where Moses brought water out of the Rock. Red Sea, in the land of Edom, very near Elat. Both Elat and Ezion Geber are located at the north end of the Gulf of Aqaba. One of the critical factors of Ezion-Geber, is that it was one stop before the 11 day journey from Mt. Sinai to Kadesh Barnea (Deut 1:2), by way of Mt. Seir. Mt. Sinai located at Jebel Al-Lawz in modern Saudi Arabia and Kadesh Barnea located at or near Petra fits perfectly, given they would pass right by Mt. Seir, the seat of transjordan Edomite territory. Ezion-geber, like Kadesh itself, must be on the edge of Edom's land. Archeologically, it can be proven that Edom was almost entirely transjordan until the time of the Babylonian captivity of 586 BC. This places Ezion-geber on the east side of Elat, not the west. If archeologists had merely read the Bible, they would have used it as a guide to look in the right place. "The first one to suggest the identification of Ezion-geber with Tell el-Kheleifeh was Fritz Frank. The small low mound is located approximately in ... ...

37: The real Pool of Siloam discovered in 2004 AD
The Hebrew word "Siloam" means "sent". Pool of the Sent. This is interesting because Jesus "Sent" the blind man to this pool to be healed. Josephus often references the pool of Siloam. He said it was located at the end "Valley of the Cheesemongers" or the Tyropoeon Valley (Josephus, Wars 5.4.1). He also said it was outside the city wall (Josephus, Wars 5.9.4) at a place where the old wall bent to the east (towards the rising sun) (Wars 5.6.1), but also facing the hill upon which was a rock called "Peristereon", which was further East (Josephus, Wars 5.12.2). Josephus was liking making reference to the present Birket Silwan, on the other side of the Kidron valley. The pool of Siloam is fed by a conduit that is cut for a distance of 1,780 feet through solid rock, and which starts at the so-called Virgin's Spring (En-rogel). The reason for which it was cut is unmistakable. The Virgin's Spring is the only spring of fresh water in the immediate neighborhood of Jerusalem, and in time of ... ...

Rejecting the Bible's statement that Edom was a sophisticated organized nation of domesticated shepherds at the time of the Exodus. For cure see: Edom A. The cure for Hittitus first found in Boghazkoy! At the turn of the century, skeptics viewed the Bible as myth rather than real world history . For example, the Bible makes over 40 references to the great Hittite Empire. You see, 100 years ago, no archaeological evidence had ever been found to prove it really did exist. "Just another Bible myth!" skeptics charged in an attempt to destroy our faith in the Bible. This, however, cannot be said today, for in 1906, Hugo Winckler uncovered a library of 10,000 clay tablets. These ancient records fully documented the long lost Hittite Empire and confirmed the reliability of the Bible. Later excavations uncovered Boghazkoy, the capital city of this "mythical" empire. These discoveries not only authenticate Scripture, but also illuminate many aspects of biblical culture. Abraham's purchase of ... ...
