Musa as Mt. Sinai. In 400 AD, Jerome had a copy of the Onomasticon and updated it with his own comments. In about 550 AD, the Madaba map was clearly dependant upon the Onomasticon. (Although it differs significantly from the Onomasticon because of updated places.) There are a few things really stand out in the Onomasticon. First, Eusebius defines Kadesh Barnea and Mt. Hor as being at Petra. Second, he defines Midian, as in modern Saudi Arabia, where Jethro and the Ishmaelites lived.
