Heaven: Man's "homing instinct"

Canada Geese:

The young of these remarkable geese will migrate in autumn with their parents to a precise pond, where the parents wintered the year before. The young will return back to the very pond they were born. God placed this incredible homing instinct in geese! The movie, "Fly Away Home", is a true Canadian story about a girl who flies her ultra-light aircraft to a winter pond some 1000 miles away, leading a dozen young geese whose parents were killed.

Monarch Butterflies:

Monarch's are even more remarkable than geese! The adult insects migrate 1000's of miles north in the spring back to Canada. When they arrive, they lay their eggs and die. The young mature and migrate back to the exact same tree their parents spent the previous winter, even though the entire adult population died after laying eggs.

Man: Eccl 3:11

"God has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end."

Eccl 3:11 clearly says that God placed the natural desire and thirst for spiritual things ("set eternity in their heart"). Yet without the Bible, man is totally unable to come to actual spiritual truths himself. ("yet so that man will not find out the work of God"). Proverbs 3:5 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding."

Illustration:

A boy stood on a windy hillside, flying a kite. He continued to release the string of the kite and it went higher and higher until it was completely out of sight. One of his friends walked up and asked how he knew there was still a kite on the other end. He replied. "I know it's there I feel it tugging on the line." Like the kite, we can't see heaven with our eyes, but we feel it tugging at our souls!
