False Dilemma: Trinitarian

Anti-Trinitarians create a false dilemma by projecting the false impression in the mind of the reader that if the "Formulated trinity doctrine" (of the Athanasius creed) is not in the Bible that Jesus is a creature and the Holy Spirit is electricity!

Muller, James Arthur: Creeds and Loyalty

What Anti-Trinitarians quote:

"This lack of a formulated doctrine of the Trinity reflects the theological thought of the second century. In the works of Justin Martyr, who wrote in about 150 A.D., the preexistence of the Son is stressed, yet in relation to the Father He is spoken of as 'in the second place.'" (Creeds and Loyalty, James Arthur Muller, Episcopal professor of church history, p9)

Our comment

Biblical Trinitarians totally agree with this quote! The Athanasius creed is nothing more than human attempts to describe the raw Biblical date of the trinity, namely the deity of Christ and the personality of the Holy Spirit. Although they correctly define the Son and Holy Spirit as persons of God, they err in their view that the three are equal and not subordinate.

Deception Exposed:

The deception is that anti-Trinitarians create a false dilemma by projecting the false impression in the mind of the reader that if the "Formulated trinity doctrine" (of the Athanasius creed) is not in the Bible that Jesus is a creature and the Holy Spirit is electricity!
