also known as "Submitters". Khalifites accept only the
Qur'an as authoritive for their life
and reject the hadiths as man-made
inventions. They also hold that the two verses brought by Khuzaima,
namely Surah 9:128-129, are false and are not part of the Qur'an
(For hadiths on the collection of these two verses,
Muslims hold this group to be heretical for rejecting the hadith
and the two verses.
Their approach can be compared to Evangelical Christians stressing
sola scriptura, accepting the Bible as the primary authority
for the foundation of the Christain faith and treating tradition as
secondary and subservient to the first. However, the Khalifites'
position is harder because much of Islamic rituals and practices
are explained and expanded in the hadiths and are only generally
mentioned in the Qur'an. This places them in a difficult position
to explain how to perform rituals like ablutions
and salat.
Khalifites are also known sometimes as "Number 19 Group", for their
claim of mathematical miracles of the Qur'an.
