The "Mother of the Book"
Muslims believe there is a literal copy of the Qur'an in the presence of Allah.

This presents four problems:

  1. Do Muslims actually believe God's native tongue is Arabic?
  2. Why would the "Mother Book" be written in Arabic, when no one in the Bible spoke Arabic. If the Bible is also God's word, (as Muslims claim, except corrupted) why is the Bible written in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek, but NEVER Arabic?
  3. It require a ridiculous view of predestination like the Calvinism, where every little action of man has been predetermined and mapped out by fate.
  4. Didn't God kind of blow it when he was unable to get the basic message of this book to anywhere but a local area in Arabia within a few hundred years? Although the stories in the Koran were drawn from known myths, these myths do not go back but a few hundred years and are geographically close to where Muhammad lived.

Allah wrote the book before the creation of earth.

"414. Narrated Imran bin Husain: I went to the Prophet (SAW) and tied my she-camel at the gate. The people of Bani Tamim came to the Prophet (SAW) who said, "O Bani Tamim! Accept the good tidings." They said twice, "You have given us the good tidings, now give us something." Then some Yemenites came to him and he said, "Accept the good tidings, O people of Yemen, for Bani Tamim refused them." They said, "We accept it, O Allah's Apostle! We have come to ask you about this matter (ie. the start of creations)." He said, "First of all, there was nothing but Allah, and (then He created His Throne). His Throne was over the water, and He wrote everything in the Book (in the Heaven) and created the Heavens and the Earth." Then a man shouted, "O Ibn Husain! Your she-camel has gone away!" So, I went away and could not see the she-camel because of the mirage. By Allah, I wished I had left that she-camel (but not that gathering). Narrated Umar: One day the Prophet (SAW) stood up amongst us for a long period and informed us about the beginning of creation (and talked about everything in detail) till he mentioned how the people of Paradise will enter their place and the people of Hell will enter their places. Some remembered what he had said, and some forgot it." (Vol. 1 - Tayammum - Hadith 340)

The Mother of the Book records the reward for good deeds.

"Allah said, "The Word that comes from me does not change, so it will be as I enjoined on you in the Mother of the Book." Allah added, "Every good deed will be rewarded as ten times so it is fifty (prayers) in the Mother of the Book (in reward) but you are to perform only five (in practice)." (Vol. 9 - Tauhid - Hadith 608)

The Qur'n is called a "Preserved Tablet" that Allah wrote and keeps in His presence.

"The statement of Allah: 'Nay! This is a glorious Quran, (inscribed) in a Preserved Tablet.' (85:22) Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (SAW) said, "When Allah had created the creation, He wrote a Book (kept) with Him (and the Book included): 'My Mercy overpowered or overtook My Anger.' And that Book is with Him on the Throne." (Vol. 9 - Tauhid - Chapter 55)

In each age, Allah chooses messengers to reveal the message contained in the Mother of the Book.

"We did send apostles before thee, and appointed for them wives and children: and it was never the part of an apostle to bring a Sign except as God permitted (or commanded). For each period is a Book (revealed). God doth blot out or confirm what He pleaseth: with Him is the Mother of the Book." (Surah 13:38, Ar-Rad)

The Qur'an declares that "The Mother of the Book" is in the presence of Allah.

"Ha Mim. By the Book that makes things clear- We have made it a Qur'an in Arabic, that ye may be able to understand (and learn wisdom). And verily, it is in the Mother of the Book, in Our Presence, high (in dignity), full of wisdom." (Surah 43:1-4, Az-Zukhruf)

The Qur'an also declares that it is a "Tablet Preserved" in heaven.

"Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an, (Inscribed) in a Tablet Preserved!" (Surah 85:21-22, Al-Buruj)
