Do angels exist?

Yes: Acts 23:8; 1Timothy 5:21.

Where did angels come from?

God created: Psalms 33:6; Psalm 148:2,5; Isaiah 40:26; Ephesians 3:9-10; Revelation 10:6.

Christ created: Colossians 1:16.

Live in heaven: Luke 2:15.

Were angels present at the creation of man?

Possibly: Job 38:4-7 Were these sons of God, that were shouting for joy, angels? 1 Corinthians 11:8-10 "symbol of authority" was to show rule over all creation Genesis 1:26-28. "Because of the angels" may mean because of angels being there at time of creation or because of angels watching women or more likely because of angels job of counting hair (1Samuel 14:45; 2 Samuel 14:11; 1 Kings 1:52; Luke 21:18; Acts 27:34)

How many angels are there?

Innumerable: Genesis 2:1; Hebrews 12:22; Daniel 7:10; Psalms 68:17; Matthew 26:53.

What does "Angel" mean?

The Greek word angelos and the Hebrew malak. The term "angel" means "messenger."

Are angels messengers?

Yes: Genesis 22:11-12 Abraham told not to kill Isaac. Judges 13:13-14 Manoah and his wife told of son to be born. Luke 1:8-19 Zacharias told about his son by Gabriel. Luke 1:26-38 Mary was given an angelic message. Matthew 1:18-24 Joseph had a message from an angel about Jesus. Luke 2:8-12 Shepherds all have message by angels about Jesus. Acts 8:26 Philip told to go to the desert. Acts 27:23-24 Told Paul that they would be delivered from the storm at sea.

How do angels appear?

Genesis 19:1 ordinary way that men come into a city. Exodus 3:2 in a blazing fire from the midst of a burning bush. Judges 13:20 ascended in the flame of the altar. Matthew 2:13 In a dream. Acts 10:3 in a vision. Acts 10:13,15 in a voice. Luke 1:28 come into the house as a visitor.

Not always recognized: John 20:15 Mary thought Jesus was the gardener.

Travel from the spiritual dimension to the physical: Judges 6:11-21 Gideon, Judges 13:3-9 Manoah, Luke 2:9,13 Shepherds, Acts 12:7 Peter.

Were dreams foolproof or infallible?

No: Dreams could come without being God's word (Jer. 23:28). Jeremiah lumped dreamers together with soothsayers, sorcerers, and false prophets (Jer. 27:9). Not every dream was thought to be from God. Some could be wishful thinking (Ps. 126:1; Isa. 29:7,8).

How do angels not appear?

Feelings Jer 14:14, intuition Jer 23:16, premonition, Jer 23:31-32, in own heart, Prov 28:26

Does everybody see the angel(s) when they appear?

No: John 12:29; 2 Kings 6:17; Hebrews 13:2.

Were those who received an angel's message always blessed?

What makes up the heavenly host?

Do angels have wings?

Only cherubim and seraphim are represented with wings, Ezekiel 10:5.

What sex are the angels?

The word angel is always masculine. Psalms 104:4 angels are spirits.

Do angels marry?

No: Matthew 22:28-30 and Mark 12:25 "For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.

Do angels die?

No: Luke 20:36 "nor can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels..."

Do angels eat?

Yes. Psalms 78:23-25.

Do angels speak a unique language?

Do angels sing?

No: Revelation 5: 11-14.

How strong are the angels?

Greater in power and might than man (2 Peter 2:11), excel in strength (Psalms 103:20), mighty (2 Thessalonians 1:7), angel killed 185,000 (2 Kings 19:35), rolled back Jesus' tombstone, (Matthew 28:1-7). If one angel Isaiah 37:36 can do this damage how much do you suppose a legion of them could do (see Matthew 26:53)?

Can angels fight?

Yes: Genesis 19:11 blindness, Psalms 35:5-6 chase and pursue enemies, Psalm 78:49 destruction through plagues, 2 Kings 19:35 killed 185,000 Assyrians, 1 Corinthians 10:10 destroyed Jews who grumbled.

Did man ever prevail against an angel and win?

Yes: Hosea 12:2-4.

Wonderful: Judges 13:6,18 {hoo pailee,} "it is wonderful;" the very character given to the Messiah: "His name shall be called {pailai,} Wonderful," Isaiah 9:6.

Should angels be worshipped?

No: Exodus 25:19; Deuteronomy 4:19;17:2-7; Colossians 2:18; Revelation 19:10; 22:8-9.

Did Israel ever worship an image of an angel?

Yes: 2 Kings 17:16-23; 21:3,5; Acts 7:42,43 (Moloch)

Does seeing an angel save you?

No: Acts 10:1-3, 30-33 Cornelius wasn't.

Can angels take away sin?

Seraphim did: Isaiah 6:5-7.

Angel of the LORD did: Zechariah 3:1-6.

Is Jesus an angel?

Is any angel one of the Godhead?

No called ANGEL OF GOD means sent from God: Exodus 14:19; Judges 13:6; 1 Samuel 29:9; 2 Samuel 14:17-20; 2 Samuel 19:27; Galatians 4:12-14.

No called ANGEL OF THE LORD means sent from the LORD: Revelation 22:16 "I, Jesus, have sent My angel..." Genesis 16:7-9; 22:11-17; Exodus 3:2-4; Numbers 22:23-35; Judges 2:1-4; 6:11-22; 13:3-21; 1 Kings 19:7; 2 Kings 1:3, 15; 2 Kings 19:35; Psalms 34:7; 35:5,6; Zechariah 3:5; 12:8; Acts 7:30-38. Notice that there are two separate beings in 2 Samuel 24:16 and 1 Chronicles 21:15-18. And when the angel stretched out His hand over Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD relented from the destruction, and said to the angel who was destroying the people, "It is enough; now restrain your hand." And the angel of the LORD was by the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite. Note in (Zechariah 1:11-12) the angel asks God a question!

No called ANGEL OF HIS PRESENCE means belonging to God: Isaiah 63:9.

God reveals Himself and acts on behalf of His people. Sometimes He does this directly, sometimes in the person of an angel. Often the distinction between God's action and the angel's is blurred to the point that they seem synonymous.

Can men become angels?

No, not in their heavenly form: 1 Corinthians 15:42; Hebrew 9:27; Revelation 7:9-14.

Yes like an angel in character: 2 Samuel 19:27; Acts 6:15; Galatians 4:14.

What can't angels do?

They do not dispense hope (Hebrews 11:1,6); they do not heal the sick (James 5:16); they cannot predict the future (Galatians 1:6-9); they did not know when Christ would die (1 Peter 1:10-12); they do not know the future (Matthew 24:36; Mark 13: 32); they do not know the mind of God (Romans 11:34); cannot taste death for anyyone (Hebrews 2:6-11); were unable to establish peace in the heavenly places (Colossians 1:20); were unable to reveal truth to heavenly places in the same way that the church can (Ephesians 3:9-10).

Does God promise to care for us?

Yes: Psalms 34:6-7; Matthew 6:26,33; 1 Corinthians 10:13; 1 Peter 1:5.

Does God promise to protect us from all harm?

No: 2 Corinthians 12:7,10 Paul had to put up with: weaknesses, insults, distresses, persecutions and difficulties. Note: God doesn't promise absolute protection. In Psalms 91:11-12 He says if you walk in His ways He will protect you. In Proverbs 3:13, 21,23 He says that if we keep sound wisdom and discretion then we will be secure. Remember Balaam left God's ways and his foot was dashed, Numbers 22:25.

Do I have a guardian angel?

Possibly: Matthew 18:6 & 10; Acts 12:15.

Can we become a guardian angel?

No: Hebrews 9:27 appointed for men to die once and then comes the judgment. There is no re-incarnation or evolving into an angel, 1 Corinthians 15:39,40.

Do angels have a freewill?

Yes: Jude 1: 6.

Are bad angels: Genesis 3:14,15; Job 4:18.

Angels can lie: 1 Kings 13:18; 2 Corinthians 11:12-15; Galatians 1:6-9.

Is Satan the leader of the bad angels?

Yes: Genesis 3:1-5, 14-15; 2 Kings 1:3; Matthew 25:41.

Can a bad angel quote scripture?

Satan disguises himself as an angel of light: 2 Corinthians 11:14.

Who are we fighting?

Spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places: Ephesians 6:12.

Speculations and thoughts that are against God: 2 Corinthians 10:3-7.

Can we believe in lies?

Yes: People trusted in a lie in Jeremiah 28:15; 29:31.

God not them to listen to: Prophets, diviners, dreamers, soothsayers, sorcerers in Jeremiah 27:9.

because they were trying to destroy them in Jeremiah 27:10.

The source of the deception: Dreams in Jeremiah 29:8.

Whose name were they falsely prophesying in? Jeremiah 29:9 God's.

Why does God allow people to believe in lies?

So that all may be judged: 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12.

Does Satan have power to defeat us?

No: Matthew 28:18; Romans 8:35-39; Colossians 2:15; Ephesians 1:20-23; Hebrews 2:14; James 4:7; 1 Peter 3:21-22; Revelation 9:1-11; 12:10-11.

How can we overcome Satan?

Not be ignorant of Satan's schemes: 2 Corinthians 2:11.

Expose and remove the deception of sin and its power is nullified: John 12:31.

Love truth: 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10.

When will God punish the bad angels?

Satan has been judged John 16:11.

Day of judgement yet to come: Matthew 25:41; 2 Peter 2:4-9; Jude 1:6; Revelation 20:10.

This is similar to our judicial system, when a criminal serves time in jail and yet hasn't come before the judge to get his sentence.

What does God do for man that He doesn't do for the angels?

Give Aid: Hebrews 2:16.

Are angels still active today? How?

Joy over when a sinner repents: Luke 15:7-10; 1 Timothy 5:20-21.

Carry the dead away: Luke 16:22.

Mislead the elect if possible: Matthew 24:24.

What job are angels waiting to do?

Gather the elect: Matthew 24:31.

Is there a connection between the gradual phasing out of spiritual gifts and the end of using angels as messengers?

How does God call us today?

2 Thessalonians 2:14; Romans 1:16 through the gospel for it is the power of God for salvation.

Why don't angels bring us new information about God today?

The faith was once for all delivered: Jude 1:3.

We are warned not to add or take away from Bible: Revelation 22:18-19.
