The Amorites were descendants of Canaan: Gen. 10:15-16; 1 Chron 1:13-14. At the time of Abraham 2000BC, the Amorites lived in Hazazon-tamar Genesis 14:7 (which is also known as Engedi: 2 Chron 20:2. Moses had requested both Edom and Moab to pass through their land but were refused. This forces Israel to travel south to past Elat and Ezion geber, then due east for 20 miles then north to a location parallel with Jericho. 8: Archeologists suffer from a disease called, "Hittitus" or "Edomitus ...
Rejecting the Bible's statement that Edom was a sophisticated organized nation of domesticated shepherds at the time of the Exodus. For cure see: Edom A. The cure for Hittitus first found in Boghazkoy! At the turn of the century, skeptics viewed the Bible as myth rather than real world history . For example, the Bible makes over 40 references to the great Hittite Empire. You see, 100 years ago, no archaeological evidence had ever been found to prove it really did exist. "Just another Bible myth!" skeptics charged in an attempt to destroy our faith in the Bible. This, however, cannot be said today, for in 1906, Hugo Winckler uncovered a library of 10,000 clay tablets. These ancient records fully documented the long lost Hittite Empire and confirmed the reliability of the Bible. Later excavations uncovered Boghazkoy, the capital city of this "mythical" empire. These discoveries not only authenticate Scripture, but also illuminate many aspects of biblical culture. Abraham's purchase of ... ...

15: The southern border of Judah and Kadesh Barnea at Petra
Most maps wrongly place Kadesh at ein el-Qudeirat and draw border line south of Qudeirat. The problem with this should be obvious to anyone who believes the Bible is both inspired and error free. If you draw the border south of Qudeirat, then Kadesh Barnea is inside the promised land! When you correctly place Kadesh where Eusebius said it was located, at Petra, then it all becomes simple and clear. The Brook of Egypt (Wadi el-Arish) is the border between Israel and Egypt. Numbers 34:3-5 Joshua 15:1-4 Imagine you are in a car driving on the Bible border of Judah. You start driving at Engedi and follow the western shoreline of the Dead Sea. When you reach the end of the Dead Sea, turn left (East) and start driving towards modern Jordan. Those who wrongly place Kadesh at ein el-Qudeirat must head WESTWARD, not Eastward. 16: Solomon's Fortress at Elat, Aqaba: Tell el-Kheleifeh and Jezirat ...
Red Sea, in the land of Edom, very near Elat. Both Elat and Ezion Geber are located at the north end of the Gulf of Aqaba. One of the critical factors of Ezion-Geber, is that it was one stop before the 11 day journey from Mt. Sinai to Kadesh Barnea (Deut 1:2), by way of Mt. Seir. Mt. Sinai located at Jebel Al-Lawz in modern Saudi Arabia and Kadesh Barnea located at or near Petra fits perfectly, given they would pass right by Mt. Seir, the seat of transjordan Edomite territory. Ezion-geber, like Kadesh itself, must be on the edge of Edom's land. Archeologically, it can be proven that Edom was almost entirely transjordan until the time of the Babylonian captivity of 586 BC. This places Ezion-geber on the east side of Elat, not the west. If archeologists had merely read the Bible, they would have used it as a guide to look in the right place. "The first one to suggest the identification of Ezion-geber with Tell el-Kheleifeh was Fritz Frank. The small low mound is located approximately in ... ...

Esau goes extinct in 500 BC. Detailed outline on Edom. Introduction: Papyrus Moscow 127 was written by Wermai (Egyptian official) who diarizes how he was driven from his position and fled to the people of Seir. (Edomites) Incredibly, Wermai's story is not only contemporary with Hadad the Edomite (1 Kings 11:14-22) but it echoes the story of Hadad itself. Was the story inspired by Hadad or could Wermai be Hadad's Egyptian name? It is entirely possible that Wermai who wrote the manuscript was in fact Edomite. Kenneth Kitchen observes the following about the Papyrus: a. Kitchen associates this event as being contemporary with the flight of Hadad, the Edomite, to Egypt (1 Kgs 11:14-22). b. Kitchen views Papyrus Moscow 127 as evidence for contact between Egypt and Edom during the time of David, since it mentions Seir. ... ...

21: Josephus 110 AD. Kadesh Barnea at Petra
Roman Arabia, dates his death after 106 AD. If Josephus died before 106, it means that others changed the document to reflect new names for old places. We take the view, however, that Josephus lived long past 106 AD. To illustrate. If someone told you that a book was written in 1975 AD and in the book it describes how a band of Muslim Terrorists drove two airplanes into the twin trade towers of New York City, you would know that the book must have been written after 2001 AD. If not, then someone else amended the book to include the event. Since the Romans annexed Petra and the Sinai Peninsula in 106 AD, when Josephus refers to Petra as Arabia, it proves he was writing after 106 AD or that someone else updated the names of the places in his writings to reflect and new names. Josephus is probably the most recognized of historians among Christians. He was a Jew, not a Christian. Josephus was of a high priestly and royal ancestry and recorded the destruction of the temple by Titus in 70 AD ... ...

Deuteronomy 1:19 B. From Kadesh Barnea, Moses sent the 12 spies to the northern edge of the wilderness of Zin across the Arabah valley into the Negev. It is important to note that Israel never actually sets foot in the negev during the 40 years in the wilderness. This ... ...
